This piece was my entry for the Monthly Gargoyles Contest in November 2003.  The topic was "Science Fiction Realms", and since I'd just gotten the Aliens Quadriligy I was kind of on an aliens kick.  Since the aliens take on characteristics of their hosts a gargoyle-hatched alien seemed perfect (though we won't think about the poor gargoyle that it came from...)  Though this one has a head crest it's not a queen.  Part of a gargoyles features are its distinctive and varied crests, so this is supposed to be a regular drone and it got a slightly more grandiose head gear than normal thanks to gargoyle genetics.
